Harvest time!

The combines are finally sketched!  Farmers are using these in my surrounding counties to harvest the largest cotton crop in recent memory.  I have been stopped several times on the way home to move over for these big harvesters and the train of trucks, wagons, and bale-makers that follows them.  They really make everything look small in comparison.

  1. Ah yes, the Deere family! We have some of their relatives around here that worked in the corn field behind our house this fall. Those bad boys are really amazing, aren't they? You nailed it in your lovely little watercolor! nancy

  3. Corey Combine! Or that's what my son used to call them when he was 2 yrs old. Very nice.

  4. John Deere Green. At my house it's Ford Blue. With the "ex" it was IH red. The neighbors have Kubota orange. Mmmmmm, a new palette?

  6. I got a chance to watch these big guys doing their job this harvest season. It really only took about 4 guys to work the system: 1 to drive the combine, 1 to drive the tractor and baler, and 2 to supervise.

I would've sketched them, but I think the farmer in them would have been annoyed or disturbed.
