Dinner treat

I don't know where Austin and Cason got the idea for these pigs-in-a-blanket, but they were disappointed the other night when Ashley's homemade hush puppies were NOT pigs-in-a-blanket.  So, Ashley went to the store last night and picked up the crescent rolls and lil' smokies.  I knew when she and I were patting out the dough that these would be great to sketch.

They were great to eat, too!  My second-favorite party food, behind cream puffs...

  1. Here's another one of those "what do you call this?" I thought "pigs in a blanket" were pancakes wrapped around link sausage :)

  2. Oooh, I love 'em, too! We were going to have them over the holidays, but had so many other wonderful treats that we didn't get around to them. I love dipping them in shrimp cocktail sauce .. yum. Your drawing makes my mouth water! lol nancy

  3. Oh yes, they are a big hit in our house too with the kids. We use Pilsbury pizza dough instead of crescent rolls. We call them pigs in a blanket too, but I think Phyllis is right too, and we eat those as well. Maybe it applies to both things???

Great sketch you did of the food, and I'm to have discovered your blog.

  4. More great comments! I guess it just takes food ;)
Are you thinking you had a lot of treats, nanke? The amount of goodies in Ashley's family is over the top! UHHH! I never thought about cocktail sauce, but it's not something we keep around the house.
